Neptun Fall Wave 2020: A first preview

 
In the Spring Wave 2020, we already addressed the Corona pandemic and the lack of Intel processors for laptops, as these have led to major delivery delays. We therefore started preparations for the Neptun Fall Wave very early on to ensure the best possible availability.

We have equipped some of the laptops with AMD processors and, where possible, placed orders with the manufacturers as early as June. Now we can expect the first laptop deliveries before mid-August. Since currently only certain apprentices (school starts on August 17th) and FH students in their first semester have a laptop obligation (BYOD: one week before lectures start, the laptop is needed for introductory lessons), sales for these two groups with a limited offer will open earlier. Detailed information can be obtained from your school as an apprentice or student. More information will be published on our website shortly.

The limited offer for the above mentioned customer groups will cover approximately half of the equipment available in the actual Neptun Wave. The offer in the Neptun Wave is composed of the following manufacturers:

HP and Lenovo

Six laptop models each will be available from HP and Lenovo. The laptop models are configured in such a way that as far as possible all fields of study are covered with the corresponding hardware requirements. We have placed large pre-orders for all laptops, so we expect to have a good stock on hand in time for the start of the semester. As always, we will continuously reorder sufficient quantities of laptops. At the moment, we expect an average delivery time of four to seven weeks for repeat orders.

Apple and Microsoft

As usual, you will be able to order all Apple MacBooks (all configurations, colors and keyboard languages) at the same discount this fall. Apple has good availability for MacBook Pro 13 and 16, but we're still waiting for Apple to provide more information on MacBook Air. In the Microsoft Store, ordered Surface devices are shipped immediately after payment. If a model is not in stock in the meantime, it cannot be ordered in the first place.
